Red Beard

RED BEARD

Round 1

"For my director I’m picking Darren Aronofsky. I’m just picking him because our beards look exactly the same, I’m picking him because he’s got the balls to take chances, and the creativity to turn those chances into gold. Pi, Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain, The Wrestler and next Black Swan. I don’t think I need to say anything more."

Round 2

"Since I picked Darren Aronofsky for my director I'm going to choose Ellen Burstyn as my first actress. She gave one of the best performances of the decade in Aronofsky's Requiem for a Dream. And we won't ever forget Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore. She'll be an amazing addition to any of Aronofsky's films."

Round 3

"My pick for round 3 is Peter O’Toole. Lawrence of Arabia. ‘Nuff said."

Round 4

"For Round 4 I’m going to pick Donald Sutherland. He’s an actor who’s able to play creepy in one role and follow up with something lovable. I bet all of us have great memories of Sutherland on screen. Maybe it’s just me, and maybe I’ve just admitted to a bizarre man crush that I’ll never be able to live down."

Round 5

"And since I’m starting the next round, I’m going to blow all of your minds by choosing Kiefer Sutherland in in Round 5. That’s right, I’m taking both the Sutherland boys. The main reason for picking Kiefer is because I’m fearful that if I don’t he’ll kill me. But also because Kiefer is an actor with a talent that is often overshadowed by his off screen persona. I’d like to give him another opportunity to prove his abilities to gain back the respect he deserves. Hopefully he doesn’t make me look like an idiot because stripping down and flashing Ellen Burstyn."

Round 6

"Round 6 pick is Rachel Weisz. She's Aronofsky leading lady off screen (Sorry that was cheesy). But she's immensely talented, and beautiful. Her performances in The Fountain, The Constant Gardener and About a Boy made me fall in love with her. "

Round 7

"Since my 7th Round pick was chosen at the end of the last round, I’m going to go to my back up pick Colin Firth. I’ve always thought of him as the ‘romance guy’ but after The Single Man I’ve been seeing him in a new light and think he’d be the perfect fit in my film."
