Round 1 | "Going with the first actor chosen in this here draft, I’m going to go with one of the biggest stars today. While a huge star, RDJ still isn’t afraid to venture into wonderful arthouse work. The man has proven he can flourish in any genre and works well with just about anybody, which leaves me with plenty of options with my remaining six picks."
Round 2 | "Keeping the concept of versatility going, Michael Fassbender is the ideal 2nd pick for me. While he has done mostly action movies, it’s films like Hunger that show off his true acting chops. There are many a critic out there that thought he was the best part of Inglorious Basterds. He has a wonderful delivery that is perfect for providing narrative for the audience, and while he won’t draw too many crowds, my movie will definitely be better because of him."
Round 3 | "Even though I should probably go after one of the actresses, I’m afraid that this guy won’t last another round. And for that reason, I’m gonna go with Tom Hardy. Like Fassbender, Hardy has been acting for some time now, only to finally break out recently with his starring performance in Bronson. He then proved he was able to run with the big dogs with quite possibly my favorite performance of Inception. Fassbender and Hardy sharing the screen together? Ah, one can dream."
Round 4 | "For my next pick, I will be going with my French Goddess, Marion Cotillard. I am estatic that she fell to me in the fourth round, when I nearly picked her in the 1st round. She transformed into Edith Piaf for La Vie en Rose, and almost stole the movie in Public Enemies. She’s always able to have a sense of serenity about her, but bringing plenty of fire to the role to be a woman to stand her ground."
Round 5 | Laura Linney: "Hate to use the cliche word "chameleon", but it fits her perfectly. Simply cannot describe how versatile she has been the past decade, a truly great thespian."
Round 6 | "Gary Oldman: Quite possibly the most versatile and under appreciated character actor of our era, even if he has been more than satisfying when he takes lead roles such as Sid and Nancy. A true professional and a hard worker that almost always helps the audience relate to the movie."
Round 7 | "Steven Soderbergh has experience working with several stars, as well as delivering action packed movies without giving up artistic integrity."
Round 8 | Eddie Marsan | |
Round 9 | Jon Favreau | |
Round 10 | Andy Serkis | |
