As if silly Greek drama couldn’t make any more current headlines, Tarsem Singh’s Immortals — a mishmash of the country’s mythology, is out in theaters. The director who is known more for his lavish visuals than artful storytelling, produced an oddly derivative yet grandiosely entertaining tale of a mortal who must rise up to become the savior of mankind on behalf of the gods.
While few details have leaked out about what the film will be about, we know the story will involve an affair between an older Hughes and a young woman who first develops a relationship with his driver before falling for the old man. Beatty who wrote and will direct the film, intends to star as Hughes. Now, don’t be creeped out but Deadline reports that Felicity Jones is set to star as his lover.
Make no mistake, Trespass is absolutely terrible, but it’s also terribly fun, at least until the third act when it is undone by about 17 twists too many, a home invasion movie for The New (Sort Of) Great Depression.
The exploitation film has been making somewhat of a comeback in recent years, and some might even go as far to say it never went away. Whether it be a pure exploitation or a stylized reconstruction, the exaggerated feeling of ‘style-over-substance’ that often extracts a collective groan from more seasoned-films fans, instead draws consensus: grindhouse is awesome.

Relativity has released a second trailer for the Navy SEALs action movie Act of Valor. Overall, this looks like it’s going to be action-packed and about as realistic as it gets in regards to how special forces operate in the real world.
