Fueled by the fine performances from Gyllenhaal and Hathaway, Edward Zwick’s Love and Other Drugs is an entertaining comedy/drama that unfortunately misses the mark with its comic intentions, but finds success and is surprisingly engaging and moving in its heartfelt dramatic moments.

I don’t think any of the picks here will be too controversial since the actresses in our top 10 are either already well-recognized character actresses (Maggie Gyllenhaal) or established A-list stars who are basically ranked in the same picking order in the Hollywood food chain.
Movie Review: Alice in Wonderland (2010)
Directed by Tim Burton, Alice in Wonderland is a fantasy follow-up to Lewis Carroll’s well known classic tale. Alice is now older, and is dead certain that her previous trip into the rabbit hole was nothing but a dream. So much, that even after days in Wonderland, she believes that she is still in a dream and imagining everything.
Movie Review: Rachel Getting Married (2008)
Rachel Getting Married, directed by Johnathan Demme (Silence of the Lambs, Philadelphia), is another dysfunctional family movie I never really intended to watch but rave reviews from a friend of mine got me to see it. And boy, what a fantastic movie! Thanks Red, you can go visit his blog here (still under construction). Best thing you could do if you are interested in seeing this movie, is not read any further. I did not know anything about the movie and it was a real surprise.
