Great Movie: Wedding Crashers (2005)

Wedding Crashers, directed by David Dobkin, is one of those movies whose simplistic premise should make for an entertaining but forgettable viewing experience, and to many people: it was. However I thought the movie was great and I loved it. Don’t get me wrong, Wedding Crashers is far from perfection (notably the last fourth of the movie) but I genuinely enjoyed it as it was so carefully crafted.

Movie Preview: The Time Traveler’s Wife (2009)

The Time Traveler’s Wife has been shoved around the post-production pipeline for a year now and it finally looks like it will come out this summer. I’m making a small space for it because I read the hugely popular book by Audrey Niffenegger a while back and was really fascinated by all the possibilities of [...]

Movie Review: Tell No One (2006)

Highly recommended movie. Adapted from an American novel of the same name, Tell no one is a highly acclaimed French romantic thriller with outstanding character depths, the kind you will not often find in mainstream US movies. Pretty solid movie overall, definitely flawed, but entertaining. A simple good old boy meets girl story in a relatively ambitious musical to the tunes of 33 Beatles’ [...]

The movie features an excellent cast with Ellen Page, Jason Bateman, Jennifer Garner, and J.K Simmons. Pretty original turn, excellent script, brilliant casting and acting [...]

Movie Review: Enchanted (2007)

Quick review of Enchanted which I happened to see while waiting for new tires to be mounted on my car (It’s true lol!). Directed by Kevin Lima, Enchanted starts like any old school Disney animation with the lonely 2D Princess Gisele (Amy Adams) serenading a crowd of animals and waiting for her charming prince in the fairy tale land of Andalusia. Soon after comes the aforementioned charming Prince Edward (James Marsden) and the two immediately decide to marry so they can, you know… live happily thereafter
