Scott’s “Unstoppable” is Implausible but Frenetic Entertainment
“Unstoppable”, the new film from Tony Scott starring Denzel Washington and Chris Pine, is predictable and implausibly scripted, but serves up some of the most frenetic, edge-of-your seat entertainment of the summer.
Scott, Washington Are “Unstoppable”
Very loosely based on the CSX 8888 incident, Tony Scott’s Unstoppable is a fun, suspenseful action-thriller despite the director’s well-known visual excesses. The movie stars Denzel Washington and Chris Pine as veteran train engineer Frank Barnes and rookie conductor Will Colston, two men on a mission to stop an unmanned train.

1001 Movie: Top Gun (1986)
Tom Cruise plays gung-ho Navy fighter pilot “Maverick” who, along with his NFO “Goose” (Anthony Edwards) are chosen to undergo training at the Navy’s Top Gun program. There, the two encounter machismo-driven rivalry with fellow pilots such as Iceman (Val Kilmer). Maverick also becomes attracted with one of the civilian instructor (Kelly McGillis) and struggles to separate himself from his father’s legacy.
